Dreaming up the Ultimate Date

Background image source here - bad photoshopping by me!
I'll be honest - I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to dates; a simple coffee and walk in the park will suffice if there's a little thought put into it, but that doesn't mean I don't fantasise about being whisked off my feet on the date of dreams, so when Match.com challenged me to create the #InternetsBestDate, of course I accepted.
The amount of hours I spend on the Internet every day is a little embarassing (even if my job does entail me sitting at my computer) so I guess you could say that I've seen my fair share of viral content, and I obsess over it as much as the next person, so I thought I'd try and incorporate as many Internet phenomena as I could - here goes!

In my fantasy world I'd start the day in my all white, totally pinterest-worthy house, and opt for a spot of extreme contouring to get that supermodel look, with a fresh-brewed coffee beside me (with some adorable latte art, obviously).  My date arrives in the late-morning, maybe it's my boyfriend, or perhaps in this parallel universe I'm dating a dreamy young Johnny Depp, or the dorky-cute Evan Peters and we drive in some flashy car to a local gourmet café for brunch.  However, this café is no ordinary café, it is instead a Doge café, filled with Shiba Inus (such brunch very doge wow) - think cat café but better.  Afterward, I am whisked away to a private beach where we work on our tans and have a bit of a surf and ice cream (some quirky flavour no doubt) and we finish off our day by riding into the sunset on our mystical unicorns...a girl can dream right?

So what do you guys make of my #InternetsBestDate?  I believe Alex has to up his date game!
Make sure you get involved with the campaign to win the ultimate date with Match.com by retweeting this tweet, and make sure to tweet your #InternetsBestDate ideas with the hashtag, I'll be sure to read them all!

If you subscribe to my YouTube channel, you'll know how totally obsessed I am with bell bottoms at the moment (my collection is getting a little ridiculous!!) so of course I had to get a pair when Missguided brought out their festival collection.  Shockingly, there's no black in the outfit at all, instead I opted for white & grey to match the flares - I love how it looks and this get-up would look gorge at a festival!  Speaking of which, I'll be at Kendal Calling next weekend - who will I see there?

A Makeover with Pipdig + GIVEAWAY

I've had my little corner of the internet running for 4 years now, and I'm always striving to improve my content and mix things up a little.  Since starting up, I've had the same blog design, and I couldn't help thinking that it's holding my blog back; sure the crystals were pretty cool back in 2011, but I wanted a fresh start with a cleaner feel.  I can code myself and I created my last layout from different templates, but when you're trying to run a blog it's so difficult to dedicate time to something that isn't 'urgent', which is why it's taken me over a year to implement this new layout (oops!).

Thanks to Pipdig, I managed to finally start on a fresh face for my blog.  Phil somehow managed to translate a scruffy drawing and some vague descriptions into a gorgeous, finalised template within days, and I loved it straight away!  I always got an immediate response, and any tweaks I wanted were done straight away - Phil seriously knows his stuff!

As you can see, I've gone for a very clean look, with minimal colours, to let each post speak for itself, and I've decluttered any ugly widgets.  The banner I actually made myself; I kept the crystals as a nod to the old theme, and tried to hint at my personality through it (for example, one of the things peeking out from behind is part of a Suicune!).  I also have a super snazzy mobile layout, which I keep having to look at, so pleased with it!

All in all, I think you'll be able to tell that I'm over the moon with my new design - let me know what you guys think in the comments!  If you're looking for a revamp, you can buy pre-made templates from just £29, for both Blogger and Wordpress and they're super easy to install yourself, or you can have a professional do it within 24 hours!  Phil also does custom & semi-custom designs if you're looking for something specific - just check out the website!
Goodbye old layout!
If you're a fan of Pipdig then you're in luck, as I've teamed up with them to give you guys a chance to win a free template!  Just enter using the widget below - good luck!

Latitude Festival 2015

SHOP THE POST: (ENSURE ADBLOCKER IS OFF)

Last weekend was truly an unforgettable experience - Latitude is like no other music festival I've been to before, and it's a little daunting writing a post about my time there, as there's just so much I want to cover!

Unfortunately we had an awful start to the weekend - a 3 hour drive took us 8 hours in terrible traffic due to the schools all breaking up for the summer. A truly horrendous journey - make sure you plan ahead or face the horrors of standstill traffic! Due to this we missed a couple of acts, including Fight Like Apes, which I was gutted about, but we still managed to get there and set up camp just in time to catch Alt-J. I've seen them twice before and they didn't disappoint - they may not be the most interactive with the crowd, but they put on a great show and I sang my bloody heart out, can't wait to see them again at Reading. Before hitting the hay, we stumbled across a gorgeous show on the lake, with dancers and big props on floating platforms - so surreal but so cool!

We started off day 2 with a cold cider at Jose Gonzalez. His music was so beautiful and the whole crowd was in mong mode, a relaxing start to the day. Later on we caught the Catfish & The Bottlemen set - a band I got into very recently and they rocked it, the crowd went crazy for them! Luckily, we managed to catch the end of Prides, and Messiah live was incredible - plus their exit song was the Lion King intro which was hilarious. We didn't go see Portishead as I'd never actually heard of them before, so we went to the Vaccines for a bit, but as people were spilling out the tent we could hardly hear it, so decided to party at the iArena, which turned out was full capacity. We accidentally got an early night which was disappointing so take note, if you wanna party, get in there early!

Unfortunately my friend had work on Monday and we live a 3 hour drive away from the festival so we couldn't catch any of the late night sets, we just spent the day wandering around exploring and checking out the different stages. We finished the festival with an amazing set by Susanne Sundfor, she has a gorge voice and the harmonies were chillingly beautiful.

Aside from the music, there is so much else to do at Latitude, whether it's having a laugh in the comedy tent, a nap in a woodland glade, joining in with a yoga group, or even a dip in the lake, there is a huge range of activities to get stuck in which was so awesome - love how they go the extra mile for entertainment rather than just music. Everywhere you look has elaborate decorations, including ethereal glass mobiles around the forest and crazy colourful sculptures, it's definitely the most 'instagrammable' festival I've been to! It's also a child-friendly festival, so there are dedicated areas to take young ones, including a funfair with sandpits and all! It was amazing to be surrounded by so much happiness and creativity - Latitude will definitely be a festival to remember for me, although I'm still gutted I managed to miss TWO secret Ed Sheeran sets!

Huge thanks to The Blogger Programme and Festival Baby - if you haven't already checked them both out, click over! TBP is a platform where bloggers and brands can connect to work together, and Festival Baby give you the low-down on all the festivals throughout the year, so helpful!

I've also written an article over on the Festival Baby blog with '10 Things I Learned From Latitude' so make sure to check that out for some laffs! Hope you liked this post - let me know if any of you guys were at Latitude and if you loved it as much as I did! Hopefully see you next year Latitude.
