Download Festival 2015

We may only be halfway through 2015, but I can guarantee that this weekend has made it into my highlights of the year.  Despite it tipping down with rain for the majority of the festival, the incredible performances made it all worthwhile.  Thankfully, Mooi En Lief hooked us up with an adorable little VW Campervan named Dorothy, so we could escape the horrors of flooded tents and soggy everything.

As you can see from the above photos it was outrageously muddy, so my Mooi En Lief wellies were a godsend - plus they have interchangeable decorations, so you can change it up for each day!  I'll definitely be bringing them along to Reading Festival later this year.  I went for typical festival style - shorts and crop tops etc, despite knowing the weather was going to be awful, thankfully I brought along my raincoats too!

My top act for the weekend was definitely Enter Shikari - I've seen them countless times before, but they just get better every time, plus their new album is killer.  Other stand-out acts include Muse (duh!), Young Guns, Slipknot, Hollywood Undead and Northlane.  I also meant to see Dragonforce as I heard Babymetal would be appearing (definitely fangirled when I spotted them in the press area), but we had to sort out the campervan instead - gutted I missed out!

If you're considering Download 2016, I'd wholeheartedly encourage it.  Not only is the line-up always amazing, it's also the friendliest festival I've been to.  Everyone's chilled out and there to appreciate the music, so no rowdy ravers or fights - I lost my phone and it was returned to me within 20 minutes, insanely lucky.  Plus, this year they introduced the DogTag - a chip on your wristband that you load money onto and pay with everywhere - honestly a lifesaver and so much safer than carrying around a ton of cash - I really hope other festivals follow suit!  Huge thank you to Download for having me, and of course to Mooi En Lief for sorting out everything, and any readers that came up to say hi!  Hopefully see you all at #DL2016!

Also just a note before I sign off; all my photos this week have been at Download Festival, so I thought I'd merge my Sunday Summary post with my Download review, as I posted pretty much all my photos onto Instagram anyway.

Did any of you go to Download?  What were your highlights?
