Not Another Salon Makeover!

  

If you follow my Instagram you may have seen my magnificent new hair by Not Another Salon - a big change for me as I've been just pink for like 3 years, but a change was so much fun - see my transformation journey after the jump!

    

As you can see, my hair before was atrocious - 2 inch roots and a gross faded pink with a yellowy tinge (it doesn't look as bad in the photos).  Damaged, lacklustre and straight up boring - thank the lord I got this ratchet mess sorted out.  I would definitely not advise growing it out this far as it means a whole lot more work for the stylist; they have to apply the bleach further out, then bring it in (which is what I had done) or you'll get banding (AKA stripes), which nobody wants!



How many salons offer you a drinks menu?!  I had the chocolate flake tea and vintage pink lemonade; a very welcome change from bog standard filter coffee!

The decor was bright and rainbowy, so much more original and fun than your average salon (plus, how many salons have secret 70's rooms??).  It's certainly not short of Instagram opportunities, and the wig line-up really showcases how talented the stylists are - all in all, a lovely environment to spend a couple hours in!

      

My hair was created by Ben and the lovely owner, Sophia - they knew exactly what they were doing from square one, and it felt so comforting being in their hands as they definitely knew their stuff - I've been to salons before when they've umm-ed and ahh-ed for ages, then gone to do something wrong (which leads to HOURS in salons, it's pretty crap).
I initially went in for just a root touch-up, but they had ideas for a more fun style to showcase their crazy colour bleeding skills so I got excited and let them have free reign - life's too short for boring hair!



I'm so incredibly happy with the final result - it came out so vibrant and I've had several people stop me on the street since I got it done!  I especially love how it fades slightly lilac at the tips and I can't wait to see how it'll fade, lilac to baby pink sounds so cute!
