London Riots

If you're a follower of my twitter, you'll know that I've been really concerned by the London riots, as you may be able to tell by all the retweets.  I think it's a really terrible thing to happen, and I totally selfish and malicious act on the rioters part.  They have forgotten what they are acting over in the first place and this is turning into pure greed.  People have destroyed businesses that have been built over decades in just 45 minutes, they have burned down innocent people's houses, terrorised zoo animals, and rumours say that they may have even targeted a children's hospital.  There were 6,000 officers at riot sites last night and even that many people couldn't contain the crime.  Even fire-fighters attempting to save the homes of the uninvolved families were attacked.  With over 300 people being arrested, prisons have become overridden with people,  and even still, the police are being blamed.  They tried everything they could last night, imagine if you were one of those people, you would be terrified.  My thoughts go out to all the people affected by the riots, and to the utterly brave policemen who were trying everything they could to put a stop to all this. I'm truly embarrassed to be a young Brit at the moment, these brutes have given England a bad name and will not help anything.  If thought think Britain will eagerly respect and value their opinions because they caused tens of millions of pounds destruction, they thought wrong.

  1. great post, i've just done one similar. Couldnt agree with your thoughts more! x

  2. Totally agree 100%.
This is no longer an act of justice or righteousness. It's just vandals taking an opportunity to destroy & ruin.
Brought utter shame upon the British Nation, so disappointing.
