Now that my boyfriend lives in London, it means I get a chance to explore fun new locations to shoot outfits - unfortunately with it being winter it starts getting dull at 2pm, so despite the fact I lugged three fabulous outfits in my suitcase this weekend, I didn't get the chance to shoot even one of them, slightly soul-destroying.  Luckily I have these photos from the the other day that I can post instead!  

If you know anything about my style, you'll probably be able to tell that I don't believe in having a 'summer/winter' wardrobe - part of the fun of styling outfits is the challenge of how to make items weather appropriate, why shouldn't I be able to wear my pretty new playsuit when it's cold? I'm no layering queen, but I was pretty proud when I slung on my fishnet top and it looked half-decent, plus with my fave OML jacket I was super toasty for the harsh streets of London!  What do you do to winter-ify summer pieces?

MY HEART IS OUT AT SEA

Yes I know my dress is wrinkly, yes I did notice before I took these photos, yes I do regret not ironing it beforehand.  I have learnt my lesson.  BUT in my defence it was getting darker outside (at 4pm..fuck you autumn) so I wanted to get the photos taken quickly.  Moving on; I've seen this dress in black on dozens of bloggers and have been lusting after it for ages, so when they brought out a blue one I was over the moon!  As it's such a simple piece I much prefer bright over tonal and the gold detail on the back not only compliments the colour but is a really awesome twist to an otherwise simple dress.  Thought I'd then finish off the look with a pair of my mums Louboutins (so. jealous.) and actually did my hair for once.  Oh the things I do for you guys.

So some of you will probably be aware that I was at Reading Festival this weekend and I had such a blast - this was my 6th time in a row and 8th altogether and I can safely say that this has been my most favourite year.  At first I was pretty unhappy because I was with my boyfriends rowdy mates who I didn't know, but I met up with a load of friends camping elsewhere and we truly made the most of our ticket, seeing loads of bands.  Anyway - story over and onto this outfit.  This maxi is so flattering and actually the only maxi that is the right length for my 5'10" frame!  I kept it simple with sandals, as if I was popping out to the beach but added my statement thunderbird necklace with matching ring from Hunter Gatherer to spice it up a little!  I'm not sure if what I'm typing is making too much sense seeing as I only got a four hours of sleep last night - but I hope you guys like the outfit!

For me, this maxi cardigan was a bit of a challenge to style because longer things are still quite out of my comfort zone.  As you may be able to tell from my last outfit post, I'm trying to start styling up maxi items, but it's so hard when you're tall as they aren't usually long enough!  I love this lace cardigan though, it's the perfect length and just brings a big impact to an otherwise boring outfit.  I also love the cut & print of the Dead Bury Dead tee and think it goes great with the perfect distressing on these Ark shorts.  Lastly, my favourite item from this look is probably the sparrow skull ring.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a better shot of it but I will be posting a haul featuring it soon so you can see closer detail!
