Hollow Men

This has got to be my new favourite song. Yeah I'm into all of the metal music etc. but you can't go wrong with a good, chilled acoustic song. My good friend Louis recorded this with his friend Olivia, who's an incredible singer, and I urge you to give it a listen, the sound is real soft and perfect for a sleepy playlist (or is it just me that has one of those?!). Louis is also the lead guitarist for the band Goodnight Vienna, an extremely talented and genuine guy so he deserves to do well out of all this, so please, take two minutes and thirty seven seconds out of your day to listen to this, I can assure you it'll be worth it!

You'll Never Live Like Common People

When I was little, my mum took me to Reading Festival.  I believe it was in 2000, 2001 and 2002.  One of the times we went Pulp were headlining and they played 'Common People'.  Now I cannot believe that now, 11 years later, they are taking the stage again!  This song always makes me happy, reminding me of when me and my mum would sit in the car in the skanky Reading campsite and play on our pokemon games with our Gameboy Colours.  Now it just makes me even more excited to see them again in August!

Happyhappyhappy

Today I'm in the best mood ever, partly due to the fact that I've been listening to such happy music!  There's no metal in here so no need to worry haha, it's really easy on the ears so most people will like it.  Some songs are from youtube videos I've seen, like the Praan one is from the surprise soldiers homecoming video (which I cried my eyes out to!) and the Animal Arithmetic song is from a Thailand video I watched.  Happy listening!

letters to god.

okay, so lately my friend phil introduced me to a band called boxcar racer.  they're not a recent band at all, in fact they're pretty old but i've never actually heard any of their stuff before.  if you like blink 182 then you'll definitely like this band as they are actually tom delongue's side band, and he is the vocals, so it's so similar.  their album (just called boxcar racer) is incredible, especially the song 'there is' but my all time favourite song is called 'letters to god', which you may have noticed is the title to this post.  the song is just generally really good and the lyrics are lovely, and, i don't know, they kind of relate to my current situation, just a little? but maybe that's just my interpretation.  anyway, do give it a listen, i think it's probably one of my all time favourite songs at the moment.  also listen out for the 'break' where the heavier guitar and drums kick in.  every time i hear that i get incredibly happy or even start crying, and if i'm walking i always so a little hop or skip when it gets to that part, aaah i just love it so much, cannot even express it! just listen to it!
