VIDEO // Black Milk Haul

Not filmed a video in a little while so thought I'd do a haul on the Black Milk leggings I bought in the cyber monday sale not so long ago.  I got the call of Napoleon leggings for myself and my friend Polly got the police box ones, then we both chipped in for some beer ones for our friend Loulie who just turned 18 the other week.  I'm so happy with the items, the quality is so high and print really good quality as well as the fit being perfect.  However, and there is quite a big however; I received two letters a couple of days ago from FedEx saying that I have to pay £40 worth of customs charges, not cool.  Just wondering if I could get any tips about the charges, can I complain to Black Milk and get them to pay or do I just have to pay them myself, and what if I don't? I'm so confused with everything!

  1. Aww, that's a shame to hear about the customs fee, that amount is insane! As customs fees are taxes imposed by mail services, you won't be able to claim anything from Black Milk, sadly. You get charged a certain amount for overseas orders based on how much you buy (quantity and cost-wise), where it's from, and how valuable it all is (so like, cotton t-shirts vs. silk dresses). You can find some sites via Google that help you calculate customs fees so you don't get as much of a shock when the package arrives!
    Hope that's been a little bit helpful, really loved the police box leggings by the way! ^^ x

  2. oh i love the call of napolean print! there's so much detail in the design. they look so good on too! sorry to hear about the customs charge. this used to happen to me all the time when i lived in canada and i couldn't resist ordering things from asos. unfortunately you won't be able to claim anything back from black milk because the customs fee won't have anything to do with them. you'll love have to pay it :/ it's so rubbish though :( x

  3. Oh I love black milk in general, but it's way too pricey for me to afford. Maybe when I turned into a rich interpreter one time :D
    And no, there's no way out of custom charges, if you don't pay them you just risk that they double the amount you have to pay. Every company has a disclaimer saying that the customer only is responsable for all taxes and charges that may add on their order.

  4. I loved watching your video! The Napoleon leggings look gorgeous.

    I bought some zombie leggings and also some pixel fast food ones in the sale. They took ages to arrive but got through customs ok. It really sucks that you have to pay though :( I follow a fan group on Tumblr and at one point loads of people messaged them complaining about how it's pretty much hit and miss with customs. Sometimes you'll get charged and sometimes you won't. I don't think there's anything you can do about it though other than pay :(

  5. i usually get a custom notice later onwards too, when i order from black milk.
    but black milk also has it in their FAQ that in some countries there might be custom taxes so yeah :/
    in the future when you order from blackmilk, you already can calculate those taxes in. they always come ==;

  9. i just got a customs fee of $71.95 (USD) from fedex for purchasing $235 worth of clothes from black milk from AUS to the US. so ridiculous! i forgot that there was possibly a customs fee, and even though i was aware of it previously no idea it would be over 30% of the value of the clothes! pricey enough as it was. has anyone else had this high of a percentage ordering from AUS to US? i think there is a $200 cutoff where if you don't order over that they don't charge but yeah i failed to remember.
